Enjoyed the story mainly got cause my paperback fell apart. The ending is abrupt no conclusion just ends that's it! If there is a sequel I'd sure like to know what happens next that ending really annoys me!

Great first contact plot but cold war plot dated.

Fade Out has been, and still is, one of my all-time favourite books.I read this book as a school kid and have re-read it now to revisit an 'old friend'... Crusoe, the main protagonist of this novel.Amazingly, this novel hasn't really 'dated' after all the time that has passed since it was written, with the exception of the Cold War suspicions that both the American and the Russian characters display toward each other. But, if viewed as an historic 'event' the storyline is a fresh science fiction concept that would translate very well to film.Something in the way Patrick Tilley describes what is happening resonates with me in such a way as to let me imagine exactly what is happening in this book at all times.I fully recommend this book to people looking to read an interesting, thought provoking and exciting novel.

Loved the Amtrak Wars series, but unfortunately this doesn’t come close. Finished the book and still waiting for something to happen. Feels like a 300 page introduction

I first read this book about ten years ago after having read Mission and loving it. The Author teases you into the story by making it sound so plausible, so every day. You could almost imagine seeing an article on one of the wire services about a problem with Radars around the world, that lasted a few minutes then faded away.Like so many things in life, we tend not to give the little things enough attention, and by implication, we allow them power over us.That is what Fade Out is to me, a reminder to always be vigilant.Thank you for a great book, that has stood the test of time, would make a great movie - hint hint..

Story is outstanding except the ending leaves the reader hanging for a conclusive ending. Good character development, suspenseful plot and a very interesting story. Begs for a sequel and a movie.

I bought this book because I enjoyed his book "Mission" but couldnt get into it.

Started out great ... good suspense ... ended a little disappointing ..
